at this point the introductions have taken place and the group members are ready to begin the first of a series of weekly meetings to learn from the company and exchange ideas. from here the moderator asks the company to begin the format for their product pitching session. a team member will use a flip chart and markers to keep track of their points.
as they proceed, the team feels it is important to first define what makes a good pitch. there are several steps that the team wants to include in order to make sure that everyone is comfortable talking about their product.
the next set of questions focus on understanding the company’s market. how are other businesses handling their supply chain issues? is there a need for a web 2.0 platform? are there industry specific problems that need to be solved? and perhaps most importantly, is there an opportunity for the company to partner with an existing industry player?
questions are structured around the following headings. business & product: responsible for the company’s product development. where does the company see itself in the marketplace? customers: customers who are their primary focus. market: how do you explain the advantages of your product over the competition? project & portfolio: what is the most important initiative that your company needs to focus on? vision & strategy: what is the company’s long term strategy? past history: how does the company see itself in the past?
the team members get a chance to exchange the content they are working on. the moderator will ask questions regarding their projects which will give the company an opportunity to discover how the team members’ projects are progressing. the group members also get to know the moderators. at the end of the session, the moderator asks the team members if they would like to receive feedback from the audience. all attendees have an opportunity to address the group on the content they would like to see highlighted next meeting. the group chair then introduces the next topic for discussion.
