SlySoft AnyDVD HD 188.8.131.52 [Multi] [Patch]
the original anydvd was released in january 2007. slysoft anydvd hd was released in march 2007. the first version of anydvd hd handled blu-ray, and the second version (the one that is the subject of this post) handles the new copy protection tools on hd dvds and blu-ray discs.
my experience with anydvd hd has been a frustrating one. each and every time that i install a slysoft product, i have found that i have to do some sort of configuration to get the product working. most of the time, the gui works perfectly. however, occasionally i have found that there are problems with the gui. i have tried to get help from the company, but have been met with no help at all. when i have had help, it has not been much of help. if i have a problem with the gui, the company always wants me to go to the “support” page on their website, which is of no help whatsoever.
the first time i bought the anydvd hd product, i did it because i wanted to use the software to rip my hd dvds. i also had some of the older slysoft software, and i wanted to see if it would work with that. it did not. the first time i tried to use anydvd, it had a problem with the gui. it did not like the one of the buttons in the gui. i was forced to use the “help” button to get the program to work. the button worked for about a day. then it stopped working. when i turned the program off, it started to work again.
slysoft has done a great job keeping anydvd hd up to date. every update addresses a new problem that comes up, and the issues are usually resolved immediately. the latest version of anydvd hd supports dvd5-dvdrip files as well as copy protection on the blu-ray (bd-dvdrip) format. this means that users who rip their dvds to bd-dvdrip files can now enjoy the same quality as they would when viewing them on a blu-ray player. anydvd hd is also backward compatible with iso images created by earlier versions of anydvd hd.
various pre-burn settings and error correction can be adjusted during the actual burn in the drive’s ‘burning mode’ screen. the user interface has been updated to be somewhat more user-friendly – the add / remove burn order buttons now have nice ‘icons’ and the new and improved ‘properties’ dialog is a vast improvement from the previous version. the latest version of makemkv now works with the latest version of anydvd hd 184.108.40.206. in order to do this, however, you must burn the image on a dual layer disc. the patches fix a few important bugs – in particular the bug that prevented the disc from being removed from the drive when the ‘recording cleanup’ button was clicked. also, the new edition has a new installer for the cd/dvd burner patches. keep an eye out for another update in the near future – a completely new version of anydvd hd 220.127.116.11 with full support for 7.9 multi-disc dvd-video discs. additionally, the 7.0 build includes some minor tweaks to the dvd record/playback software to ensure compatibility with the latest version of makemkv. as always, keep in mind that the updates are not guaranteed and may contain bugs, as the code is still in development. the image queue system for when you’re burning several images (which you can automatically share between multiple drives if you have more than one) and an easy-to-use layer break selection screen for double layer dvd video jobs. the automatic write speed feature allows you store your favourite burn speed settings on a per ‘media id’ basis, right down to a drive by drive level. data captured during the burn (write speed, buffer levels etc) can be displayed / analysed using dvdinfopro. 5ec8ef588b
