i am having some problems opening an eps file in photoshop. i have tried all the approaches mentioned above without any luck. is there a way that i can open the eps file in photoshop without loosing the original file format. i have no issues opening eps files in adobe illustrator or corel draw. it is only when i try to open the eps in photoshop that the problem arises.

one final point i would like to make is that when you export a file from a program like adobe illustrator, photoshop, indesign or quarkxpress you get the following warning in the menu of all the programs: this file cannot be used as a pdf or eps file, as it has been embedded with the adobe illustrator file format (ai). this file is not intended for direct use in any other software, and it may not be opened or printed correctly in any other software.
